In this post, I am going to talk about some of the shots and footage I wasn't able to use in my Music Video for various reasons. For example, this shot was angled very badly. We did intend on using this footage for a time lapse, however due to the surface we were filming on the tripod was not level, and this right sided shot was the outcome.

We improvised with this shot by filming when we were driving. This was on the surface a good idea, although it was very difficult to hold the camera steady and also to only get the external view through the camera and not the interior of the car.

This was a shot we had originally planned to use in our storyboard, however as you can see the lighting is very poor. We tried to resolve this by using a desk lamp, but we found this just made the shadows very bad and the shots was too bad a quality to actually use in the video.

This shot was supposed to demonstrate the character deep in though looking out the window, however we had some, problems with the pull focus when trying to show depth of field, and this resulted I the character just appearing out of focus throughout the footage. This therefore was not possible for us to use.

One of the first times we went filming was within college, we were experimenting with our idea at this point, and the footage we got was very poor. As you can see we had some problems with the camera, and the quality of shots was very low. We also struggled filming in confined spaces, and as a result we didn't use any of this footage in the video.

In this shot it was just getting dark, and we experienced some problem with lighting. This shot was crucial for the telling of our story, so we had to use what light we had in the porch. We found filming outside made the control we had over lighting very difficult. So we cut this shot so that we only used the parts of it with the best lighting.

We encountered problems with this shot with respect to communication. When filming the character in an enclosed area, we found it was difficult to communicate without the character looking at us. This was the first problem, and second was the reflection on the car window of the building outside.

This shot was very dark, and made the footage look equally as dark. We overcame this by turning on the desk lap to the left of the shot. This worked really well, and meant we could re-take the shot and save the idea we had for the video.
